We are running for seats on the Raritan Township Committee this year because we think it’s time to Re-Think how our local government can and should shape our community.  We are dedicated to protecting the environment.  We believe in fair and open government where everyone is respected and everyone’s opinion counts.  And we’re not afraid to say that Yes! government has a role to play in making sure we have the community we want and deserve.

Our opponents have repeatedly failed to make tough financial decisions and failed to protect our quality of life, as if everything will just take care of itself.  It’s time to elect people who aren’t afraid to make tough decisions and who know how to protect our rural character.

The Re-think Raritan platform:

  • Return to fiscally responsible budgeting that doesn’t rely on gimmicks
  • Provide real leadership on environmental protection and open space preservation
  • Promote open government and citizen participation by webcasting committee and board meetings

What do you Think?

Don’t miss coverage of the campaign by the Star Ledger newpaper:

Last year’s independent candidate for Raritan Township Committee has endorsed Chan Leung and Marianne Rampulla for Raritan Township Committee.  Bob Seckrettar ran in 2008 on a platform of ending nepotism and workplace abuses at the township.  He ‘urges his supporters to vote for Rampulla & Lueng this year’.   Mr. Seckrettar is a former building inspector for the township.

The Roadside Campaign continues with What Stinks?  Did you know that the 2009 budget was balanced by taking over $400,000 from the Raritan Township Municipal Utility Authority?  Why should you care?  Read more on the What Stinks page.

If you’d like any or all of the signs to display on your lawn, please drop us an email and we’ll deliver it to your door.

We’d like to know what you think are the most important issues of this campaign. There are only a handful of questions, so please take our survey. It should take less than a minute. Thank you!
